Frequently Asked Questions

Are masks required?

Masks are no longer required in the studio, unless unvaccinated. We do encourage you to bring your own apron & hand towel to limit the amount of sharing supplies.

What aged children can attend the Family Pottery Classes?

Children 6 and under can paint a bisque piece. Children over 6 can participate in hand-building with clay or even try the wheel.

If I miss a class from my four-week series, can I have a make up?

Due to the nature of our schedule and limited class sizes, you will not be able to do make-ups. If you have an illness or family emergency & are able to email us, we can aim to arrange a one-time class to catch up on what you missed, our "All Levels Pottery" class is a great option. We can not ensure availability.

I'm not ready to sign up for a four week series, can I try just one class?

Sure! Our one-time workshops or All Levels Open Studio is booked on a weekly basis and is a perfect way to try it out without the commitment.

My pieces are finished, when do I pick them up?

If your pieces have been fired and they are ready to be taken home, please pick them up 2-3 weeks after your class. Your instructor will let you know an exact timeframe depending on class. We only hold onto pieces for 2 months due to limited shelf space.

I have a gift certificate, how can I redeem it?

If you have a hard copy gift certificate you can redeem it in-store, please contact us to book your class. All digital gift certificates can be used to book online with your unique code.

My child is doing a pottery class, can I stay and watch?

Due to the limited space at our studio, we would prefer if you could grab a coffee next-door and come back when we are finished. We love our neighbor SLO Provisions!

How long is the sign up period for homeschooled children?

This is a four week rotation offered for homeschooled kids. Please note if you have a Heartland certificate, it does not automatically enroll you in a class. You must sign up for the class online or contact us to ensure you have a spot.

If I sign up again, will you be doing the same activities?

We tend to bring back the activities that are popular with the kids, we also mix it up each rotation as best as we can. If a kid has already taken this class, we will encourage them to try something new.

I did a one time class, how do I come back to glaze my pottery?

You will either need to schedule a follow-up class (within one month of your first class) to come back and fire your pieces, or arrange for the staff to glaze and fire for you for a fee.

We are from out of town, can we still make pottery and get it sent to us?

Of course! We can arrange to glaze, fire and ship your pieces for an additional $35/person plus shipping.

I want to gift someone a pottery class. How do I do that?

The best way to give the gift of pottery is by purchasing a gift bundle online! Our gift bundles are wonderfully setup & come in all shapes / sizes.
